How old do I have to be to rent a moped?

According to Hawaiʻi State Law , you need to be 18 years old with a valid driver's license to rent a 50 cc moped.

How fast can I go on a moped?

The top speed for a moped in Hawaiʻi is 30 miles per hour or 50 kilometers per hour. If you ride anywhere where the marked speed is higher than 30 miles per hour, then you must ride in the bike lane.

How many people can ride a scooter?

It is against Hawaiʻi State Law for two people to ride together on a 50cc moped! Only the renter is allowed to ride the moped. Please do not "pack" (ride with 2+ people) on the 50cc mopeds.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

No, you aren't required by law to wear a helmet, but we highly recommend it. We can provide a helmet to you by request. You ARE REQUIRED by law to wear eye protection (sunglasses, etc.). We also recommend that you wear gloves, a long sleeved shirt, pants and closed toed shoes. 

Can I rent a moped if I don't have a U.S. driver's license?

Yes! All we require for international customers is a valid International Driver's Permit, or IDP.

Do I need a driver's license to rent a moped?

Yes, you do! You need to be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license. You will also need a credit card in order to secure the reservation.
